Syracuse Shelby Mustang Club is gearing up for its 38th annual All Ford Car Show, promising unique and restored Fords in 31 classes.
And although the club takes its name from the rare Shelby Mustang (only 538 of the 1964 Mark II were even made), any Ford, Lincoln, Mercury or Ford-bodied street rods will be welcome at the June 28 show, to be held at Clay Central Park in Liverpool, NY.
Owners of show cars can choose to enter either judged or non-judged; three judged cars from each class will receive awards, and someone will also be taking home trophies for four “best of” categories and a President’s Choice award.
Adding to the festive feel of the gathering will be delicious food from vendors and refreshing beer (limited to one six-pack per person).
The costs for the show are as follows: $5 for spectator admission (children 12 and under free), $7 for pre-registered judged show cars, $10 for judged show cars at the gate, $5 for pre-registered non-judged show cars, and $10 for non-judged show cars at the gate. The pre-registration deadline is June 18.
Admission to the car corral, where cars for sale are set up, is $10.
Part of the proceeds will go toward great causes, as well, including Cicero’s American Legion chapter, the American Red Cross, Clear Path for Veterans, the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the North Area Meals on Wheels.
The club will be there from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Questions should be directed to Club President Gary Gilbert, 315-656-2542, or Show Chair Dennis Connor, 315-469-0913.
